Plus-Size Wholesale for Latin American Boutiques: Buying from Turkey in Spanish
Latin America's plus-size demand is real and badly served. This guide walks a Spanish-speaking boutique through buying directly from an Istanbul manufacturer — in Spanish, from the first click to the carton at your door.

Every week we receive messages from boutique owners in Mexico City, Bogotá, Santiago, Lima, Guayaquil and Buenos Aires with the same question: *can we really buy directly from you, and how does it work from here?* The answer is yes, and the process is simpler than most first-time importers expect — provided you know the five points that decide whether the first order goes smoothly.
This guide is written for Spanish-speaking buyers. The site, the catalogue, the order list and this article exist in Spanish, and the logistics side is covered in detail in our separate article on shipping from Istanbul to Latin America.
Why Latin American boutiques source plus-size from Turkey
Three reasons come up in almost every conversation. First, fit: our garments are cut for plus-size bodies from the pattern up, in our own Istanbul workshop, since 1998 — not scaled up from a size 38. Second, depth: more than 600 styles in stock, with real quantities per size and colour, so a style that sells can be reordered instead of replaced. Third, the wholesale logic: full size sets with mixed styles and colours in one order, a low $400 minimum, and dispatch within 24–48 hours of confirmation.
Against that, the honest trade-off is distance. Air express from Istanbul reaches most Latin American capitals in about a week; sea freight is much cheaper per kilo but takes six to ten weeks. The landed cost — goods plus freight, duty and clearance — is what you should compare, and the shipping article walks through a worked example.
Sizes: reading 34–60 from Latin America
Our sizes follow the continental European numbering: 34, 36, 38 … up to 60. Plus-size in our catalogue means 44 to 60, and the Small Sizes section covers 34 to 44 in the same viscose basics. Latin American markets label sizes in several different ways, so do not work from the number on the label alone: use the flat measurements in our measurements guide and compare them to the garments that already sell well in your shop.
One practical rule from buyers who have done this several times: measure your best-selling dress and blouse in their largest size, keep the numbers on a card, and check every new supplier against them. That single habit prevents most returns.
How a size set works
Turkish wholesale sells in size sets (seri): one piece of each size of one colour — for example 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58 as an 8-piece set. On the site you pick the number of sets per colour, and underneath you can add single pieces by size to strengthen the sizes that sell most for you. Sets, single pieces and — in the small-sizes section — 50/100/200-piece packs all go into the same order list. The logic is explained in What is a size set?.
Ordering in Spanish, step by step
- Create a free wholesale account on the Spanish version of the site. Prices and live stock per size appear only after sign-in.
- Build your order list from the catalogue: choose colours, sets and single pieces. The list shows quantities, size composition and the subtotal as you go.
- Send the list on WhatsApp with one tap. It arrives with every style code, colour, size and quantity written out, so nothing is retyped.
- Receive a proforma invoice with company details, the confirmed quantities, weights and the shipping option you chose.
- Pay by bank transfer against the proforma. Once payment is received, in-stock goods leave the workshop within 24–48 hours.
Your list reaches us as style codes, colours, sizes and quantities — the part that matters needs no translation. The conversation then continues on WhatsApp; send codes and quantities as one list rather than ten separate messages, it is faster and avoids errors on both sides.
Payment: what to expect
Ready-stock orders are paid by international bank transfer (SWIFT) against the proforma invoice; the site itself takes no card payments. For custom production there is usually a deposit to start and the balance before shipment — the details are in our article on the proforma and the 70/30 split. Ask your bank about the transfer fee and the exchange rate in advance: on a $400–1,000 first order those two lines are a visible share of the total.
Shipping and customs, in short
You can use your own freight forwarder or cargo agent, or we arrange DHL/UPS door-to-door. Every shipment leaves with a commercial invoice and a packing list that match the cartons exactly. Duties, taxes and importer registration are on your side and differ by country — Mexico's importer registration, for instance, must be active before the goods arrive. The Latin America shipping article lists the country-by-country points and the mistakes that cost first-time importers money.
Practical tip: get a written quote for air express and for air cargo on the same order before you decide. Above roughly 100 kg the per-kilo price changes, and the right answer depends on how fast you need the goods on the floor.
A first order that teaches you something
The $400 minimum is deliberately low so that a first order is information, not a bet. Take two or three styles in a category you already sell — viscose dresses and blouses are the usual entry point — with real depth in the sizes that move, rather than eight styles at one piece per size. When the cartons arrive, compare sell-through by size and colour; your second order will write itself.
Start on the Spanish site, open the collection, sign in, and send your first list. If you would rather talk first, the WhatsApp button on every page opens a conversation with a real person.
