Wholesale Plus-Size for Maghreb & Egyptian Boutiques: Casablanca to Cairo
Turkish fashion already sells in Casablanca, Algiers, Tunis and Cairo. This guide explains how a boutique in the Maghreb or Egypt buys plus-size directly from the manufacturer — in Arabic or French, with the right documents and a realistic timeline.

Boutiques in North Africa have bought Turkish clothing for years — often through a trip to Istanbul, a cargo agent and a suitcase of samples. The difference today is that the whole process can be done from your shop: the catalogue, the live stock, the order list and the conversation exist in Arabic and in French, and the goods reach Casablanca, Algiers, Tunis or Cairo by air in days rather than weeks.
This guide covers what a buyer in the Maghreb or Egypt needs to know before a first order: sizes, what sells, how ordering works in your language, how payment and shipping are handled, and where the four countries differ.
Why North African boutiques buy plus-size from Turkey
Three reasons come up in every conversation. Proximity: Istanbul is a short flight from every North African capital, and air express arrives within days. Fit and coverage: our garments are cut for plus-size bodies from the pattern up, in our own Istanbul workshop since 1998, with the longer sleeve and length options that many North African customers prefer. Depth: more than 600 styles in stock, with real quantities per size and colour, so a style that sells can be reordered instead of replaced.
The trade-off is import formality. Each of the four countries has its own rules for finished apparel — documents, registration, duties — and they differ far more than buyers expect. That is why the customs section below is short and points you to your own broker.
Sizes: the same numbering you already use
Our sizes follow the continental European numbering: 34, 36, 38 … up to 60. If your shop already labels in French sizes — 40, 42, 44 — the numbers are the same. Plus-size in our catalogue means 44 to 60, and the Small Sizes section covers 34 to 44 in the same viscose basics. As with any new supplier, check the flat measurements in our measurements guide against a dress that already sells well for you before ordering depth.
What sells in the Maghreb and Egypt
- Dresses — viscose day dresses with sleeves, and occasion dresses for family events; long lengths move fastest.
- Co-ord sets and tunics — the highest-rotation daily wear; easy to display, easy to reorder.
- Blouses and shirts in viscose and woven fabrics — the safest first-order category, because they combine with what your customers already own.
- Outerwear and jackets for the winter months in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.
Our occasionwear guide and the co-ord sets article go into buying depth by category; the brief on coverage, sleeves and length explains how to specify those preferences in an order.
Ordering in Arabic or French
- Create a free wholesale account on the Arabic or French version of the site. Prices and live stock per size appear only after sign-in.
- Build your order list from the catalogue: choose colours, full size sets and single pieces. The list shows quantities, size composition and the subtotal as you go.
- Send the list on WhatsApp with one tap. Every style code, colour, size and quantity arrives written out — the part that matters needs no translation.
- Receive a proforma invoice with company details, confirmed quantities, weights and the shipping option you chose.
- Pay, and in-stock goods leave the workshop within 24–48 hours.
Turkish wholesale sells in size sets (seri): one piece of each size of one colour, for example 44 to 58 as an 8-piece set. You choose the number of sets per colour and can add single pieces on top. The logic is explained in What is a size set?.
Payment
Ready-stock orders are paid against the proforma invoice by bank transfer; buyers who come to Istanbul can also pay in cash at the showroom, and some customers settle through their cargo company — all three are agreed with your salesperson order by order. The site itself takes no card payments. For custom production there is usually a deposit to start and the balance before shipment; see the article on the proforma and the 70/30 split.
Shipping and customs, country by country
You can use your own cargo agent or freight forwarder — most North African buyers already have one in Istanbul — or we arrange DHL/UPS door-to-door. Every shipment leaves with a commercial invoice and a packing list that match the cartons exactly, and the delivery terms (EXW, FOB or DAP) are written on the proforma.
Import rules for finished apparel differ sharply between Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt, and they change. Before your first order, ask a customs broker in your country three questions: which documents must accompany the shipment, whether an importer registration or licence is needed for apparel, and what duty and tax apply to your goods. We prepare the documents you ask for; we do not give customs advice for your side of the border.
Practical tip: send your broker the proforma before you pay. Ten minutes of checking on the document avoids a week at the port.
Timing around Ramadan and Eid
Demand in the region peaks in the weeks before Ramadan and before Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Plan the first order so that goods are on the floor at least three weeks before the peak: dispatch within 24–48 hours, air transit of a few days, and your clearance time on top. A boutique that receives its cartons the week the holiday starts has already missed the best selling days.
A first order at $400
The $400 minimum is deliberately low so that a first order is information, not a bet. Two or three styles in a category you already sell, with real depth in the sizes that move, teach you more than eight styles at one piece per size. Start on the Arabic or French site, open the collection, sign in and send your first list; if you would rather talk first, the WhatsApp button on every page opens a conversation with a real person.
Frequently asked questions
Can I order from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia or Egypt in Arabic?
Yes. The site, the catalogue and the order list exist in Arabic and in French; the list you send us is style codes and quantities, which need no translation. The conversation then continues on WhatsApp.
Do your sizes match French sizing used in the Maghreb?
Yes — sizes follow the continental European numbering (34 to 60), the same numbers used on French labels. Use the measurements guide to check flat measurements before ordering depth.
How do I pay from North Africa?
By bank transfer against a proforma invoice; buyers visiting Istanbul can pay in cash at the showroom, and some settle through their cargo company. The site takes no card payments.
How are goods shipped to Casablanca, Algiers, Tunis or Cairo?
With your own cargo agent or forwarder, or by DHL/UPS door-to-door arranged by us. In-stock goods leave within 24–48 hours of confirmation; air transit is a matter of days, plus your customs clearance.
What documents come with the shipment?
A commercial invoice and a packing list that match the cartons exactly, with the delivery terms on the proforma. Ask your customs broker what else your country requires for apparel and tell us before shipment.
What is the minimum order?
$400 in total per order. Styles and colours can be mixed freely; the usual unit is a full size set per colour, with single pieces on top where stock allows.
